Service Description

Beginners Improvised Comedy Course! This is an introductory course is for absolute BEGINNERS to improv comedy. No prior experience needed. What is Improv? Improvisation is the art of making up scenes, characters and dialogue on the fly. Everything you create with your scene partners is made up spontaneously without a script. (It's not as hard as you might think!) Key Improv Skills: This 6 week course will introduce you to the core principles of improvisation, such as: How to be an active and responsive listener How to embrace everyone's ideas How to accept, commit and build scenes together. Key Life Skills: Improv skills are hugely transferable to every day life. Improv can: Build your confidence personally, socially and professionally. Unleash your self-expression, imagination and creativity Encourage you to 'be present' Boost your mental health and wellbeing. Develop your spontaneity Enhance work presentations & public speaking skills. Help you develop meaningful connections and friendships. What happens in sessions? - Get to know each other via group games and exercises - Work in pairs and small groups playing structured improv scenes (inspired by TV’s Whose Line is it Anyway!) - Build trust - Have lots of fun! (low waged, students, unemployed, over 65's) Tutor: Sekki Tabasuares LCI is delighted to have a very special guest teacher for this course. Sekki is co-founder of Flintshire Funnybone and Stand Tall Improv CIC, based in North Wales. She previously co-founded Glossop Improv. She is a member of The Oickers Improv Team, and is an outstanding improviser and supportive encouraging teacher. NB: Please read Covid guidelines and Code of Conduct on the LCI website. Cancellation Policy

There are no refunds or transfers unless at the discretion of LCI. LCI may refund or transfer you if you can no longer attend because of ill health. If LCI need to cancel you will be offered a refund. Please don't attend a session if you have COVID and email LCI to inform us about any Covid related issue.
