An improv coaching session with personalised notes, with Emma Bird

  • 5 hours
  • 60 British pounds
  • Liverpool Arts Bar, 22 Hope Street, L1 9BY

Service Description

In this 5 hour intensive you will do scenes and receive personalised notes afterwards. We go 'behind the scenes' to analyse the offers, choices, and decisions made in your improv scenes to bring a greater awareness to how you improvise. Your choices in an improv scene are infinite. And though none are necessarily wrong, sometimes it takes an outside eye to get a broader perspective. And some reflection afterwards may help understand what is going on 'behind the scenes' in order to realise alternatives within the scenes. In these monthly 5 hour sessions, you will improvise scenes - both short form and long form - with different people. LCI founder Emma Bird facilitates your development as an improviser with discussion and encouraging personalised coaching, with specific notes to work on in further scenes. There are 3 monthly coaching sessions scheduled. You can come to all or some. Each session can be booked separately. When: Sat 18th June Sat 16th July Sat 20th Aug 12pm-5pm Where: Liverpool Arts Bar, 22 Hope Street, L1 9BY Each sessions is limited in number to give you plenty of scene time, reflection and personalised notes. £60 per session. Level : From early stages - to more experienced. Descriptor: With a minimum of 3 months improv experience, you have a good grasp on fundamental improv principles and feel confident in deploying those principles in scenes and games. Newer improvisers may benefit from an outside eye to help you define your choices and hone your skills. OR you may have been improvising for a while and an injection of coaching may unlock a plateau or help you move forward, or gain a different perspective on what you do. About your coach: Emma recently directed a play at Liverpool's Royal Court Theatre. She has 3 decades experience as a theatre maker as an actor and director and has specialised in improv for 15 years. Emma is the founder of LCI, which is now in its 7th year.
