Slow-Prov Improv Course

Slower style improv to improve your scene skills

  • Starts 18 Apr
  • 80 British pounds
  • Liverpool Arts Bar

Service Description

This 4 week course is an injection of skills for anyone who wants to explore a slower style of improvisation. Have you ever felt like improv scenes are going too fast? Are there too many ideas being thrown into the pot without time to process, register or respond in the way you'd like to? Are your contributions not being heard? This short 4 week course focuses on two person scene skills. It will take the fast bubbling 'heat' out of improv scenes and instead will place your senses into a 'slow simmer'. There will be time given to each other to listen, think, feel, respond and discover the truth of the moment. Content will cover: Slower paced two person scenes with lots of exercises and tools. A focus on excellent listening, words, silence, subtext and physicality. Paying attention to details. Strong unconditional support. Suitability: This course is for improvisers who want to take a breath, slow down; be heard, hone their listening and support skills; and expand their range of acting and improvisational skills. You must have at least one month experience of improv; understand and be practiced in the principle of 'yes and'. At the end of this short course, you will feel more confident in your core scene skills, bring and offer more awareness to your scenes and be able to improvise with a range of people in a connected and authentic style. When: Thurs 18th Apr - Thurs 9th May Time: 7.30pm - 9.30pm Where: Liverpool Arts Bar, 22 Hope Street, L1 9BY £80 for 4 weeks Contact for any questions you may have.
