Viola Spolin is the foremother of improvisational theatre games that contemporary improvisers still recognise and play today. (https://www.violaspolin.org/bio) Join Max Schafer - a leading expert in Spolin theatre improv games - as he visits Liverpool to take this special Monday night session with you in person! Hosted by Liverpool Comedy Improv, the session is open to all levels of experience - we strongly encourage experienced players to come to get a boost of the joys of playing games, as well as newer players to learn those all important improv fundamentals. It will be brimming with playfulness, joy, and a huge reminder of the basics of listening and practicing the art of 'yes and'. About Max: Max Schafer leads Spolin workshops around the world. He is the author of “Viola Spolin’s Theater Games for the Classroom” and studied under and was directed by Viola Spolin herself. He was stage manager for Paul Sills (Spolin's son). He also studied with Carol Sills, Aretha Sills, Alan Arkin, Dick Schaal, Avery Schrieber, Bob Moyer, and Gary Schwartz. Max teaches Spolin improvisation around the world. He has been a distinguished certificated classroom teacher for over 40 years. He is a computer programmer and software publisher. He is a toy inventor and president of a toy company. He is originally from Detroit, Michigan, now living in Los Angeles. He also runs a Music Improv group. Cancellation Policy

There are no refunds or transfers unless at the discretion of LCI. However, LCI will refund or transfer you if you can no longer attend because you discover you are positive for Covid, or feel unwell and suspect you have Covid, or discover you have come into contact with someone who has tested positive. If LCI need to cancel a session you will be offered a refund. Please email LCI to inform us about any Covid related issue.
