Character in Hand: Puppetry for Improvisers Workshop
Character in Hand: Puppetry for Improvisers Workshop!
Have you ever wondered about the creative potential of puppetry as an improviser? Or been curious about what might happen if you gave that inanimate object a voice and a personality?
Now’s your chance to find out!
Having recently experienced her brilliant workshop, LCI is excited to host Alice Rowbottom for this Guest Workshop!
What You’ll Discover:
A fun interactive introduction to the fundamental principles of puppetry.
How to create walking, talking puppets that seem to have minds of their own!
How to breathe life into objects, paper puppets and muppet style puppets with hilarious movement, emotion, and voice.
Explore scene work and storytelling where your puppet becomes your scene partner, comic relief, emotional outlet, or even your inner saboteur!
Use puppets to tap into bold new characters and voices you didn’t know you had.
Puppets are inherently delightful — they fail charmingly, emote ridiculously, and say things you’d never dare to!
Who This Is For:
* Improvisers who want to shake things up, break patterns, and discover new physical and vocal dimensions to their work.
* Puppetry-curious folks who want a friendly, playful entry point.
* Anyone who wants to laugh, play, and feel a little more fearless as an improviser.
No prior puppetry experience required — just a willingness to look silly, be bold, and let a puppet do the talking. There’ll be plenty of time for you to practise improvising with your new puppet creation.
Come join us for an improviser's puppetry workshop full of Delightful Chaos!
