ImprovLab

ImprovLab is a laboratory day for improvisers to come and work on any thing you’re trying to work out. For example maybe you’re trying to invent, refine or finesse a new short form game or long form format, or a mid form hybrid.

Maybe you just wanna personally nail one specific skill (eg object work; physicality) - anything that’s niggling you at the moment that you just wanna practice over and over and nail it! Maybe you just wanna come along to help someone figure something out!

Anything that you wanna work on or that’s been rattling around in your head for a while, that you want an expert outside eye on and a group of peers to help you do that. I will be your outside eye, your peers will be your practice buddies.

This is a celebratory lab day to support and validate your creativity, where we exchange and creatively collaborate with like-minded fellow improvisers… you talk your idea over, we listen, you give it a go, we try things out with you…

With the added bonus of having an experienced improviser and theatre director in the room! I can help direct some of your ideas if you need to. But see the lab as an exchange, a place to experiment, develop any ideas you’ve got in the back of your mind. And I will throw my directors eye over it if that is useful to you.

Sunday 19th of October, studio 1 at the Bluecoat,

11am -4 pm. Maximum 10 people only. £20 per person to cover costs.
